1. Metacognitive Journaling: Writing in Secondary Mathematics Courses

This is an on-demand course that allows you to understand how writing journals in math class can help students to think more metacognitively. It will briefly talk about the reasoning, examples, and grading. There is little interaction with me or other students, but there is a student forum for discussion.  You can go at your own pace and finish when you like.

2. Introduction to Problem-Based Learning in Mathematics: Making the Transition

Has your school made a decision to move towards a Problem-Based Learning curriculum? Have you desired a more problem-based classroom within a discourse-driven problem-centered curriculum? This course will explore the theory of PBL learning, resources for classroom discourse, PBL-consistent assessment, & develeoping a classroom culture. Geared towards the teacher who has a few years of PBL teaching experience or who has committed to using PBL in their classroom, we will be taking a deep dive into improving your classroom practice and looking at best practices for optimal PBL experiences. Four-week course, instructor and student interaction.
